Abu Dhabi: Riding on Rohit Sharma's sensational knock Mumbai Indians put 195 runs on the scoreboard for 5 wickets after being invited to bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders in their second outing in IPL 2020 here at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. In their very first match, KKR bowlers were battered heavily by MI batsmen. Rohit Sharma was ably supported by the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary and Hardik Pandya.

Captain Rohit played a magnificent 80 runs knock off 54 balls after his opening partner Quinton de Kock was dismissed cheaply in the second over of their innings, bowled by Shivam Mavi.
de Kock's early dismissal didn't have any rippling effect on MI's innings as Suryakumar Yadav provided ample support to his captain playing a quickfire 28-ball 47-run knock. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav added 90 runs from the second-wicket stand.

In the 11th over, Eoin Morgan and Sunil Narine's combining effort causing Suryakumar Yadav's run-out. Then again there was no respite for KKR bowlers as burly Saurabh Tiwary and Rohit Sharma continue to batter them. Tiwary played a 13-ball 21-run innings before being caught by Pat Cummins off the bowling of Sunil Narine.
Lately, Hardik Pandya, who scored 14 in the first match against CSK, played a whirlwind 18-run knock to help MI reach 195 runs mark. Hardik was hit-wicket off Andre Russell's bowling.

Rohit Sharma, meanwhile, became the second Indian to reach the milestone of 200 IPL sixes. The only other Indian to achieve the mark is CSK captain MS Dhoni.

Earlier, KKR captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss and decided to field first, a decision which turned out to be a nightmare for his bowlers. Among the KKR bowlers, Shivam Mavi was the standout performer. He picked up two wickets giving away 32 runs from his quota four overs.
