RCB had signed Dale Steyn as a replacement for injured Nathan Coulter-Nile. Though Steyn played only two matches, his impact in the team visible in their previous win.
After losing six matches in trot, Virat Kohli's RCB bounced back and won fours games out of their last five matches. Steyn also missed the games against R Ashwin-led Kings XI Punjab, that Bangalore based outfit won by 17-runs.
“Dale Steyn has been prescribed with ample rest due to inflammation in his shoulder. On account of the state of his health, Dale will not be available to take part further in the ongoing season of IPL. His presence has helped the team immensely and we are very thankful for the inspiration and passion that he brought to the squad. The team will deeply miss his energy and presence around. We wish him a speedy recovery and all the luck for all future endeavours.” Said RCB in a statement released on Thursday.
Virat Kohli's side can not also sign any player as his replacement because more than half of the season has gone.
