Exclusive: Siraj's brother Ismail shares story of his brother's rise

Mohammed Siraj picked up five wickets in Brisbane Test which helped India bag the Test series 2-1 for the second successive times Down Under.

Hyderabad: Following Mohammed Siraj's sterling performance in his debut Test series in Australia, where he took 13 wickets, including a five-for in the Brisbane Test, the Hyderabad cricketer has become a household name in Indian cricket. His rise from a humble background to the top level of cricket caught eyes of one and all across the cricketing world.

ETV Bharat talks to Mohammed Ismail, brother of Siraj.

As India retained the Border-Gavaskar Series 2-1, ETV Bharat talks to Siraj's brother Mohammed Ismail to know the behind the scene story of Siraj's rise.

Siraj, 26, in his only third Test, ripped through the Australian batting attack (5/73) to fetch India their first win in Brisbane.

As senior bowlers were unfit to play, Siraj, being the seniormost with three Test caps, took over the responsibility of leading Indian attack. And he did successfully.

His brother Ismail talks about Siraj's rise in domestic cricket, his journey to professional cricket, and his source of motivation.

Siraj made his debut for Hyderabad in 2012 and soon earned fame due to which he was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for IPL.

Siraj and Ismail recently lost their father Mohammed Ghaus to lung cancer.
