Shinwari, Babar help Pakistan defeat Sri Lanka

Karachi: Pakistan's left-arm pace bowler Usman Shinwari bagged his second ODI five-wicket haul as Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 67 runs to go 1-0 up in the three-match ODI series.

Chasing a target of 306, Sri Lanka were off to a poor start as the visitors were down to 28/5 inside 11 overs after a daunting bowling effort by Shinwari who was well supported by Mohammad Amir.

However, a solid 177-run partnership between Shehan Jayasuriya (96) and Dasun Shanaka (68) gave the visitors a mere hope of a victory before the duo were dismissed in consecutive overs to guarantee Pakistan's win in their ODI return at home,
