Hyderabad: There is always a story behind every player. A story no one knows and nobody might even believe. But we all have IPL, a league that has changed cricket forever. IPL in itself is a drama and the tournament makes sure that the stories of the players are never lost for they are not meant to be.

And as the auction concludes today, we take a look at those stories. These are players not amongst the most popular ones but have somehow managed to crawl in to these cash-rich teams.

Here's a list of unknown players who have been picked by various teams at IPL 2021 auction.

Mohammed Azharuddeen (Sold @Rs 20 lakh)

The left-handed wicket-keeper batsman has been picked by RCB for 20 lakh. A resident of Thalangara, he rose to prominence after scoring a destructive century in just 37 balls against Mumbai in the recently held Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The batsman has his fair share of ups and down in his career and sometimes due to lack of consistency it's difficult to count on him but when he gets into the groove, he can demolish any opposition on his day.

Ripal Patel (Sold @Rs 20 lakh)

Ripal is just 25. But he successfully created ripples after being sold for 20 lakh. DC bought him. What he brings to the table is his strike-rate. A staggering 190. He lacked the guile to play a big knock in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy but he is a famous man. Famous to go for the cleaners and that's what makes him a worth buy.

Rajat Patidar (Sold @Rs 20 lakh)

He is bought by RCB for 20 lakh. The boy from Indore has reaped rewards of his performance in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. A right-handed batsman, representing Madhya Pradesh, he scored three half-centuries. He is just 22 first-class games old but strikes at 143.53, something any team would look to bank on.

Lukman Meriwala (Sold @Rs 20 lakh)

For DC, this was strategically a great move as they went on to pick the 29-year-old Lukman. He was the second highest wicket-taker in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He picked up 15 wickets at an economy rate of 6.52, a decent performance by T-20 standards.

M Siddharth (Sold @Rs 20 lakh)

DC bought the left-arm spinner at 20 lakh. Inspired by his father, who played for the Indonesian national team, the father-son duo moved to India so as to push Siddharth's cricket dreams. Hailing from Tamil Nadu, the 22-year-old idolised Irfan Pathan and started off as a left-arm fast bowler but soon turned into a spinner after advice from his coach. He has 16 wickets in 6 T20s at an economy of 4.95 in his kitty.
