Dubai: David Hussey admits Kolkata Knight Riders were simply "beaten by a better team" as they slumped to a six-wicket loss to Chennai Super Kings in their IPL match in Dubai on Thursday.
The Knight Riders coach says a few things didn't go their way, including the opening toss, but ultimately they were outclassed by the Super Kings, who sit at the bottom of the IPL table.
"Every defeat is difficult. You sort of look at every game, every aspect of the game. Every little mistake you've made, but full credit to Chennai, they deserved the win tonight," he said.
The Knight Riders, who are mid-table on 12 points, now have their work cut out to reach the playoffs, with one match remaining against Rajasthan Royals, which they must win to qualify.
"We've put ourselves in this position by losing games, unfortunately, but we're still breathing," he said.
"We're going to really rest up, recharge the batteries and come out and just play some free-flowing cricket and you just never know what could happen," he said.
