Ranchi: Riding on the double ton of Rohit Sharma and century of Ajinkya Rahane Team India posted a mammoth total of 497-9 against South Africa on the Day 2 in third and final test match of the series here at JSCA International Stadium Complex. Virat Kohli decided to declare when India were inching towards 500 with 1 wicket in hand.
South Africa spinner George Linde, who is making his debut, managed to pick four wickets.
Opener Rohit Sharma smashed his maiden double ton. Rohit hit 28 boundaries and 6 sixes in his magnificent innings.

The right-hand batsman, Rahane also scored 115 of 192 balls with the help of 17 boundaries and one six. Rahane played with the strike rate of 60. This was Rahane's first fifty-plus score of the series.
After Rahane and Rohit, Ravindra Jadeja joined the party to score his 2nd fifty-plus score of the series. Ravichandran Ashwin and Wriddhiman Saha failed to make an impact in the innings.
Interestingly, India pacer Umesh Yadav scored quickfire 10 balls 31 runs to help India get close to 500.
Kagiso Rabada picked 3 wickets while Anrich Nortje and Dane Piedt one wicket each.
