London: Star Proteas spinner Imran Tahir on Sunday removed both Pakistan openers Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq from the attack and in the process became his country's leading wicket-taker in the Cricket World Cup.

After bagging two wickets against Pakistan, Tahir took his wicket tally to 39 in the fifty overs mega-tournament, which is one more than fast bowler Allan Donald, who retired after the 2003 World Cup.

Tahir, who is also the oldest player in the ongoing showpiece event, induced Zaman to lob a catch in the 15th over of the match while he caught and bowled Imam in the 21st over.
