Hyderabad: Afghanistan emerged victorious after beating Ireland by 84 runs on Saturday and sealed the series by a margin of 2-0. Hazratullah Zazai scored an unbeaten 162 and won the man of the match title.
Zazai put up a 236-run opening partnership with Usman Ghani and Afghanistan ended its innings on 278/3, surpassing the record for highest T20I score by a team.
In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Zazai said that he was not thinking about breaking any records but giving his best and making his team win. However, it felt good to break a record, he added.
He further said, "The team is in a good shape now and we have been performing well. Now, the focus is on the 2019 world cup and we have started preparing for it."
