Kolkata: Legendary Indian cricketer MS Dhoni is all set to launch his first residential cricket academy in the 'city of joy' on the eve of Chennai Super Kings' away match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens.

The new cricket academy will be known as 'MS Dhoni Cricket Academy-Kolkata'. According to media reports, there will be two new residential academies in West Bengal which will be funded by Dhoni.
It is learnt that CSK captain Dhoni will not be present to launch the academy in the city. In his absence, veteran CSK spinners Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir will cut the red tape to open the academy in Salt Lake. The ceremony will also be attended by Kolkata's notable footballer Dipendu Biswas.
At the same time, the second centre of Dhoni's residential academy will be based out of Basirhat in North 24 Parganas, 72 km away from Kolkata.

Apart from Kolkata, Dhoni runs residential cricket academies in Singapore, Patna, Delhi, Nagpur, Varanasi and Lucknow. With the availability of all modern technologies and renowned coaches, Dhoni's academy is going to be the most advanced cricket coaching centre in the country.
