Hyderabad: Filmmaker Prakash Jha's web series, Aashram, is facing the wrath of social media for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments. Twitterati are seeking a ban on the series and arrest of Jha for defaming Hindu faith.
When the first season of Ashram released on MX Player in August this year, Prakash had released a disclaimer video to avoid offending sentiments of any sect or community saying that they respect all Gurus and their establishments, they respect all religion and people’s faith. However, the netizens are apparently not keen to take the disclaimer seriously.

In November, Karni Sena slammed legal notice to Ashram makers on the ground of "directly targeting the ancient tradition, custom, culture of Hindu, Ashramas Dharma". Hitting back to the notice, Jha had then said, "Who am I to make a judgment on their demand? We had 400 million-plus views for the first season. I think viewers are the best placed to decide on ‘negative goodwill’. Shall we leave it to them?"
