Hyderabad: Television show Diya Aur Baati fame actor Deepika Singh is facing heat over social media for coming out on road and shooting videos of herself dancing in rain amid Cyclone Tauktae in Mumbai.

On Tuesday Deepika took to her Instagram page to share a string of pictures and a video wherein she is seen dancing in rain on the road. The actor, who has over 2 million followers on Instagram has found herself at the receiving end of massive social media backlash for her latest posts.

Deepika, who is away from the small screen for nearly two years, keeps her fans engaged with dance videos and her stunning pictures on the photo and video sharing site. While fans have loved her pictures of Holi and other videos, they seemingly disapprove of Deepika's latest video and pictures.

Lambasting Deepika for the posts perceived as insensitive, a user wrote, "Tufaan ne tabahi machai hui h, aur inko masti ki soojh rahi hai (The cyclone has caused so much destruction and all she can think of is to have some fun)." Mewnhile another user commented, "Don't promote these types of videos.... it was not good to be outside..." wrote a user. "Tumhare ghar ki chat sahi salamat hai isiliye (because your house hasn't been damaged)," similarly yet another user called out Deepika for enjoying rain while other people were suffering, "People are dying in cyclone .. people like you enjoying this. what a shame."

Netizens also suggested the actor to stay indoors and protect herself from falling sick at a time when the COVID-19 cases are on the rise in the country. Last June, the actor made headlines when she requested the Delhi government for help as her mother and grandmother had tested for the novel coronavirus.

Even though Deepika stayed away from playing lead characters after delivering her first child in 2017, she never really lost touch with showbiz. She made appearances on a few TV shows and also did a web series in 2019.
