Los Angeles: Mattel and Airbnb have teamed up to mark Barbie's 60th birthday to offer one group of guests a stay at a recreation of Barbie's Dreamhouse.
The three-story home features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, outdoor meditation space, craft room, fully-stocked kitchen and movie theatre _ all decked out with pops hot pink, Barbie's favourite colour. There's also a walk-in closet with a variety of career outfits to choose from since Barbie has many jobs...ranging from an astronaut to a firefighter to a sailor and a snorkeler.
They've also arranged for some influential women to pop by to share their various expertise including aerospace engineer Jill Meyers, celeb hairstylist Jen Atkins and Olympic fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad.
There are some catches along with the stay including:
The group can only be up to four people and the listing is only available for one two-night stay between Oct. 27 and Oct. 29. Reservations open on Airbnb on Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. PDT. The cost is $60 per night.
Airbnb will also donate to the Barbie Dream Gap Project, launched by Barbie in 2018, with the goal of giving girls across the globe the resources to continue to believe in themselves so they can do anything _ just like Barbie.
