Hyderabad: Vijay Sethupathi, who is a big name down south, is all set to win over the audience all over the nation. After reports of a film with Sriram Raghvan costarring Katrina Kaif and web series with Shahid Kapoor, the actor is now officially onboard for director Kishor Pandurang's upcoming film Gandhi Talks, which will be a silent feature.
Talking about his dream project, Kishor told a leading webloid that he had been working on the script for nearly two decades and also revealed what made his rope in Vijay for the lead role.
"This project has been close to my heart and when the actor playing the part relates to the idea and the emotional graph, it turns out to be a boon for the director. Every director looks for certain characteristics in his actor when he approaches them for a part. Initially, I was planning to cast a Bollywood actor, but when I extended my search to regional cinema, I came across Vijay Sethupathi," said Kishor.
Impressed by Sethupathi's film choices, the filmmaker said he is looking forward to work with the actor as their vision and approach towards the film is well in sync.

"I watched his impeccable performances in Tamil films and his acting prowess left me mesmerised. He is not only brilliant, he is also a gutsy actor, who is not worried about his image or stardom. His acting skills, style statement and vocal dynamism is stupendous and that’s when I felt I have found my lead star. He is not only prodigious in his work, but also down-to-earth. I am really excited to work with Vijay, who understands my vision and approach towards the film; I want to start work on my dream project as soon as possible," Kishor concluded.
Sharing his views on the film, Vijay is quoted by the daily as saying, "I know this project will surely be an outstanding one. Gandhiji’s thoughts are more important and valid than his picture in the Indian rupee period."
Currently, Vijay is cherishing the initial box office success of his latest Tamil outing Master. Starring Thalapathy Vijay and Sethupathi, the film has grossed over Rs 50 crore in Tamil Nadu alone within the first three days and is all set to be remade in Hindi.
