Mumbai: Urvashi Rautela has slammed the reports which were churned out on the basis of a viral video on social media claiming that filmmaker Boney Kapoor touched her "inappropriately".
On March 31, Urvashi attended the wedding reception of Jayantilal Gada’s son Aksshay Gada in Mumbai. Little did the actress knew that her photo op with filmmaker Boney Kapoor would turn out to be fodder for juicy reports.
A video of Boney apparently touching Urvashi "inappropriately" has left the netizens fuming with anger. The social media users have been calling it 'disgusting' and have condemned the filmmaker for his conduct. However, the 'Hate Story 4' actress has a different opinion on the viral video.
Urvashi took to Twitter to slam the reports, calling it disrespectful: "Presumably one of the India's 'SUPREME' newspaper and this is 'NEWS'!!?? Please dont talk about GIRL POWER or WOMEN’S LIBERATION when YOU don't know how to RESPECT/HONOUR GIRLS", wrote the actress.
She also defended Boney's action by calling him a "true gentleman".
"I felt appalled and beyond shocked this morning when I saw social media flooded with trolls of me in a video with respected sir. It makes me feel extremely unhappy and miserable because the social sites/media don't even think twice before putting up things or destroying anyone's reputation," Urvashi tweeted on Tuesday, urging everyone to "stop trolling".
"I honestly respect sir and stand by him and his dignity," she added.
On the work front, Urvashi will be next seen in John Abraham-starrer 'Pagalpanti'. The Anees Bazmee directorial also features Arshad Warsi, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles.
'Pagalpanti' is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar's T-Series and Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak's Panorama Studios. It is co-produced by Aditya Chowksey and Sanjeev Joshi.
