Mumbai: Actor Taapsee Pannu feels that its the responsibility of a filmmaker to portray a negative character as villainous rather than filming it to be heroic. She pointed out Kabir Singh's character stating the difference in filmmaker's mindset.

"There is a sense of responsibility, portray a negative character, forget about grey, but take that responsibility that eventually people don't start emulating you considering it heroic. That is scary, especially in a society like us, still far away from being equal. So, the filmmaker should take responsibility keeping in mind our Indian society," she said.

Talking about the controversial scene in Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh where Rajdheer Singh (Shahid Kapoor) slapped Preeti Singh (Kiara Advani), she said, "The makers showed it in their film because there thinking was like that. That's why it is said that cinema is a reflection of society. But our thinking is like this which will be shown in Thappad. His thinking was the way it was shown in Kabir Singh."
