Mumbai: Sushant Singh Rajput's flatmate Siddharth Pithani, who was asked to appear before the Enforcement Directorate on August 8, has skipped his visit to the agency.

The ED had called him for questioning in connection to the money laundering case.

The agency had registered an ECIR (Enforcement Case Information Report) in the case on July 31 after an FIR was filed by K.K.Singh against Rhea Chakraborty in Bihar on July 28.

According to news reports, Pithani shifted to Bangalore after Sushant's demise and has also opened his own office.

Earlier, Enforcement Directorate had summoned Rhea, her acquaintance Shruti Modi and brother Showik Chakraborty for questioning.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CBI that is probing high profile cases of Vijay Mallya and Agusta Westland cases will now investigate the Sushant Singh Rajput's death case.

Days back, Pithani alleged that Sushant's family members have asked him to record a statement with the police saying that Rhea has siphoned a sum of Rs 15 crore from Sushant's bank account.

In an interview, he said: "I have become very defensive because the family members - they have called me an mentioned about a 15 cr transaction which happened from Sushant's bank account. They are saying that 'Rhea ne kharcha kadha hai and you will tell the statement that this happened'."

Having said that Pithani concluded saying: "I have spoken to them after the incident. They are really nice people, but, suddenly there is a change of mode. I got anxiety and then I quickly contacted the police telling this is the scene."
