Sushant's death case: Aditya Chopra & Sanjay Leela Bhansali give contradicting statements?

Mumbai: After actor Sushant Singh Rajput's sudden demise, Mumbai Police have been investigating meticulously in the matter. Yash Raj Films' chief Aditya Chopra was reportedly interrogated for over four hours on Saturday where he was accompanied by his two lawyers. If a webloid report is to be believed, sources have alleged that the statements made by Aditya are completely opposite to those made by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who was questioned earlier this month.

Earlier, it was reported that Bhansali in his statement to the Mumbai Police, said that the actor was to be cast in the film Bajirao Mastani but due to his contract with YRF, things could not get into place.

Refuting Bhansali's claims, Aditya told the police that the former had not spoken to YRF to cast Sushant in Bajirao Mastani. He said that when Sushant could film M.S. Dhoni while staying in contract with YRF, then why he could not feature in Bajirao Mastani. Aditya further stated that no one from Bhansali's team contacted YRF regarding his film and their wish to cast Sushant.

It was stated earlier that as YRF didn't allow Sushant to take up Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bhansali later roped in Ranveer to play the part. But, Aditya denied the accusations, calling it 'baseless'.

He said that Ranveer Singh signed the film in April 2012, whereas YRF's contract was signed with Sushant Singh in November 2012. So, there was no question of them trying to tamper with Sushant's career.

Talking about Paani, Sushant's film with Shekhar Kapur which got shelved later, Aditya said that the flick was dropped due to creative differences with Kapur and not because of Sushant.

For the unversed, Sushant was found hanging at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020.
