Saqib Salim roped in to play Mohinder Amarnath in '83'

Hyderabad: With its interesting star cast announcements, the makers of Ranveer Singh starrer '83' are raising the expectations. The makers have now announced that Saqib Salim would play the role of the 1983 World Cup Hero Mohinder Amarnath, in the film.

While announcing this, '83' makers took to Instagram and wrote, "He aces every role and this time, he will play Mohinder 'Jimmy' Amarnath, one of the finest batsmen against pace. #CastOf83."

Mohinder had played a key role to win the 1983 Cricket World Cup. He was the Man of the Match in the semi-finals and finals.

Interestingly, Saqib played the game professionally. He has played for the Delhi cricket team at the state-level.

'83' will start filming in May and will be shot primarily in London and Scotland.

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film is produced by Madhu Mantena, Vishnu Induri and Khan, and presented by Reliance Entertainment.
