The Gunday star opens about her wish to direct films. She also claims that direction is something that makes her nervous.

Mumbai: Global icon Priyanka Chopra who has won a million hearts with her acting performance expressed her wish to direct films someday.

After achieving success as an actor, Priyanka has stepped in the shoes of a producer now.

One of the leading actresses turned singer and producer revealed that the art of directing films makes her nervous.

The former beauty queen made her Bollywood debut with the 2003 release The Hero: Love Story of a Spy. She eventually grabbed audiences' attention with her remarkable performances in movies such as Aitraaz, Fashion, 7 Khoon Maaf, Barfi! and Mary Kom among others.

As a producer, she has backed movies such as Ventilator, Pahuna: The Little Visitors and her upcoming film The Sky Is Pink.

In a recent interview, the actress revealed: "It's something that makes me nervous because it's a lot of responsibility. But slowly, I have moved from acting to production and hopefully, I'll make that (directing films) transition too someday."

Speaking about women donning the director's hat, the Isn't It Beautiful actor stated: "I don't think gender defines anything. Women and men are capable or as incapable as their merit make them."

Helmed by Shonali Bose, The Sky Is Pink is her second Bollywood movie with a woman director. Speaking about her association with Bose, she said: "Working with Shonali was my honour. I think she is an incredible filmmaker and her gender doesn't define that."

The Baywatch star further added: "I don't think that your estrogen changes the kind of films that you make. I think she is an incredible filmmaker and the kind of stories that she has told and will continue telling, I think will define Indian cinema."
