Hyderabad: Shootings of many big-budget films have been put on hold after the Maharashtra government ordered all film and TV shoots to be stopped as India grapples with the lethal COVID second wave. With the restrictions being imposed again, the shoot of Prabhas' highly anticipated film Adipurush might be shifted outside Maharashtra.
Last month, cinema halls shut again, and so did the productions on films and TV serials. The lockdown has proved a huge impediment to Bollywood as many big-ticket films including Shah Rukh Khan's Pathan, the Ranveer Singh-starrer Cirkus, Prabhas' Adipurush, Ajay Devgn's Mayday and Maidaan were being shot in the state. Besides these films, there were numerous other films at various stages of production -- where sets were being constructed or other stages of pre-production or shooting.

According to the latest reports, the makers of Adipurush are planning to shift the film's production outside Maharashtra. Adipurush team has already shot for nearly two months in Mumbai’s Film City and were about to kickstarts their next schedule after a break in March. The team, however, has no choice but to look for other options to restart the production as they are yet far from wrapping up the film and a significant amount of work which reportedly demands nearly 90 days of work is pending. If reports are to be believed, the makers are planning to shift the production base to Hyderabad to complete the film.
Adipurush is an adaptation of Ramayan, where Prabhas features as Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Sita while Saif Ali Khan will be seen essaying Ravan. Directed by Om Raut, Adipurush will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair.
