Hyderabad: Parth Samthaan, who has earned a name for himself with the television show Kasautii Zindagii Kay, is gearing up to take the leap and venture into movies with Resul Pookutty's directorial venture Piharwa. The TV star will be paired opposite none other than Alia Bhatt in the film, reports suggest.

Earlier speculations about Parth being roped in for Alia's Gangubai Kathiawadi did rounds but then the part finally was bagged by Shantanu Maheshwari. According to a leading webloid report, Parth has definitely sealed the deal for a film starring Alia in the lead.

Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty will be venturing into the direction with Piharwa. Set against the backdrop of the India-China war, the film is said to be based on the life of martyr Harbhajan Singh. Set in two eras, Piharwa will have Alia and Parth's love story at the core.

The makers are planning to take Piharwa on floors once Alia wraps the shoot of Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR and Karan Johar's untitled film with Ranveer Singh opposite her.
Besides Ekta Kapoor's television show, Parth has also featured in videos of songs like Nishaa and Tu jo kahe and Aakhri baar. The actor has also appeared in Ekta's web show , Mai Hero Boll Raha Hu.
