Mumbai: Actor Kangana Ranaut lashed out at Mirzapur 2 web series and 'Bullywood' for churning out content that glorifies criminals. her comments came after the accused in Nikita Tomar murder case confessed being inspired by a character in web series Mirzapur 2.
Retweeting an update on Nikita Tomar's case, Kangana wrote, "This is what happens when you glorify criminals when negative and dark characters are played by good looking young men and they are shown as anti-heroes not villains then this is the result, shame on Bullywood for causing more damage than good always."
When a video of the incident went viral it left Bollywood celebrities shocked and disturbed. Earlier Bhumi Pednekar, Sawara Bhasker, singer Sona Mohapatra and others posted their thoughts on social media.

On October 28, Kangana had tweeted: "Whole world is shocked at what happened in France, still these Jihadis have no shame or any fear of law and order a Hindu girl student shot outside her college in broad day light because she refused to convert to Islam. Immediate actions needed. #weWantEncounterOfTaufeeq."
The incident took place on Monday afternoon at around 4 p.m. when the deceased Nikita Tomar was returning from Aggarwal College after an exam. The two men tried to abduct the victim, and when she resisted, one of the accused persons pulled out a revolver and fired at her.
The killing of the girl in broad daylight led to massive protests in the district with the protestors seeking stringent action against the accused. The victim's mother, who also sat on protest, said that she won't cremate her daughter until the two accused persons are "encountered".
