Mumbai: After Hrithik's Super 30, Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal has been declared tax free in Maharashtra.

It is expected that more children will get to watch the movie as the film has been declared tax free. The children will further get to know about Mangalyaan which has carved India's name in the history of space research.

As the ticket prices are coming down more people especially from the rural areas will feel encouraged to watch the film.

The film chronicles the story of India's epic Mars orbiter mission Mangalyaan.

During the film's promotion, film's lead Akshay said in an interview: "I've made this film mainly for children, so that they feel encouraged to become scientists."

He further added: "Scientist as a profession is not very likeable, but now after ISRO's launch of the Chandrayaan, people are gradually becoming more aware of it and taking interest in it. I hope this film helps to spread the fact that what a great profession it is."

Helmed by Jagan Shakti, the film has hit the theatres on August 15, 2019.

Besides Akshay Kumar, the film also stars Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen and H.G. Dattatreya in pivotal roles.

Mission Mangal has minted Rs 165 crore at the box office.
