Mumbai: Filmmaker Jagan Shakti, who directed Vidya Balan-Akshay Kumar- starrer Mission Mangal, was hospitalised on Sunday and is recovering, a source close to the director said.
As per multiple reports, the filmmaker collapsed while he was with his friends and was rushed to a city hospital.
"Jagan is now well and is recovering," the source told PTI, adding that the filmmaker has a clot in his brain.
The story of Mission Mangal was based on Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)'s Mars Orbiter Mission, which was execute by a primarily all-women team of scientists in 2013. Every character in the film hails from a middle-class background and went on to create history.

Jagan's directorial debut released on 15 August, alongside John Abraham's Batla House, and Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood last year. Mission Mangal appealed to the masses and had opened to a staggering Rs. 29.16 crores on its opening day, making it Akshay's highest opener till date. The collection of the film went past the Rs 200 crore mark.
Jagan is awaiting another collaboration with Akshay which again will be a science fiction.
Post the success of Mission Mangal, Jagan did not took a break to enjoy the success and had started working on Ikka, Hindi remake of the 2014 blockbuster Kaththi.
