Hyderabad: Actor, presenter and designer Mandira Bedi's husband Raj Kaushal breathed his last on June 30. Raj succumbed to a heart attack early in the morning at his residence in Mumbai. He was in his 50s. Filmmaker Onir confirmed the news on social media.
Raj had helmed films like Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi (1999), Shaadi Ka Laddoo (2004) and Anthony Kaun Hai (2006). He was also a known name in the advertising world and produced Onir's debut film My Brother…Nikhil (2005).

Saddened by Raj's demise, Onir took to Twitter and wrote, "Gone too soon. We lost Filmmaker and Producer @rajkaushal1 this morning. Very Sad. He was one of the producers of my first film #MyBrotherNikhil. One of those few who believed in our vision and supported us. Prayers for his soul."

Family friend and actor Rohit Roy told a newswire that Raj passed away at around 4.30 am at his home. Raj and Mandira tied the knot in 1999 and have a ten-year-old son Vir. The couple also adopted a four-year-old girl named Tara in July 2020.
