Mumbai: South superstar Mammootty's magnum opus titled Mamangam has recently been leaked on the internet.
The Ernakulam police in Thiruvananthapuram have registered an anti-piracy case on Sunday against those who are alleged to have illegally uploaded the superstar's film.
Billed as the biggest Malayalam film in terms of the budget and expense in recent times, the project showcases the martial art of Kalaripayattu.
The war drama was released last week in India and abroad.

"We had commissioned a team of 30 members who have now found out that the film has been uploaded to the internet. The details of all those who have done it have also been given to the police," said an official attached to the film.
This film chronicles the 18th-century Mamangam festival held on the banks of the river Bharathappuzha in the Malabar region.

The film was released on Thursday across 2,500 screens in 45 countries.
However, two days later, this film found its way into the internet.
Produced by Venu Kunnappilly, the historical period drama also stars Unni Mukundan, Prachi Tehlan and Abhirami V Iyer in pivotal roles.
Mamangam is a historical drama that revolves around the life of warriors known as Chaaverukal, who plotted against the Zamorin ruler to overthrow him.
