Hyderabad: Southern star Ramya Krishnan is making headlines after Chennai police found liquor bottles from her car on Friday night. Ramya's Innova Crysta bearing registration number TN07Q 0099 was found with 96 beer bottles and 8 liquor bottles after which the cops have taken driver Selva Kumar into custody.
Ramya's driver was on his way from Puducherry to Chennai when the police arrested him for smuggling liquor as the sale is prohibited in the capital city. Puducherry has traditionally been a ‘wet pocket’ with incidents of smuggling of the brew from the UT to neighbouring districts.
The incident happened at the Muttukadu check post. Selvakumar (38) has been booked under various sections. The actor is yet to make any statement, however, after a few hours of arrest, Ramya went to the police station with bail order and the driver has been released.
