Hyderabad: Kamalrukh Khan, wife of late composer Wajid Khan had poured her heart out in a social media post after Tanishq ad on inter-faith marriage stirred controversy. Months after her viral post, Kamlarukh has now opened up about how immensely she was being pressurised to convert that the musician had even threatened divorce if she did not comply.
In an interview with a YouTuber, Kamarukh has spoken at length about her love story and marriage with Wajid. She has said that Wajid was a very good man but was not strong-minded and would succumb to the pressures of his family especially in matters of faith.

Kamalrukh also said that Wajid's family kept insisting that their children were illegitimate as was their marriage since they had not married as per Muslim law but Special Marriages Act which meant nothing to them. The gap between them widened when Wajid threatened to divorce her if she did not convert in 2014. Since then the college sweethearts had been living separately.
Kamalukh, a Parsi, also said that their kids, a 16-year-old daughter Arshi and a nine-year-old son Hrehaan are being denied their inheritance because she refused to convert.
