Mumbai: The current heartthrob Vikrant Massey turned a year older today. With a career spanning over 16 years in the show business, Vikrant became a house-hold name for his outing in a popular daily soap Balika Vadhu.

For the movie buffs, Vikrant will always be remembered for his exceptional performance in A Death in The Gunj. Not only in films, but his portrayal of Bablu Bhaiyya in the web series Mirzapur is so smart that you can't stop binge-watching.

Two years before he started out his stint in television with Disney India 's Dhoom Machaao Dhoom. The 2007 comedy-drama series featured Vikrant as an actor and choreographer Aamir Hassan. He later went on to act in shows like Kahaan Hoon Main, Dharam Veer, The Serial among others. Of late, he appeared in Qubool Hai as Ayaan Ahmed Khan after replacing Rishabh Sinha and has also stepped into the shoes of a host for Yeh Hai Aashiqui.

Besides working on off-beat contents, Vikrant means complete business in showbiz. He has managed to shine as an actor in all mediums, be it silver screens, web or small screens, and the audience can't get enough of the powerhouse performer.

He made his Bollywood debut in Vikramaditya Motwane 's Lootera alongside Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha. Interestingly, Lootera went on to become a huge success at the box office and most importantly Vikrant earned recognition and heaps of praises for his character Devdas Mukherjee. With his limited screen space, Massey equally managed to make the audience laugh and cry at the same time.

They say constructive criticism makes you introspect and rightly so. Vikrant who was earlier not considered as conventional 'hero-type' pattern proved his worth with time. He is such a brilliant actor that the audience now only wish to watch more of him on the big screen.

With a crisp, racy and engaging film like Chappak, Vikrant stole the limelight despite sharing the screen space with one of the A-listers Deepika Padukone. It is hard to not notice his presence on screen. With natural acting abilities, he has also got an extremely relatable vibe. In terms of versatility too, he has impressed the audience with varied roles. From Shutu in Konkona Sen's A Death In The Gunj to Bablu Pandit in Mirzapur, and later, of course, in films like Dil Dhadakne Do, Lipstick Under My Burkha and Half Girlfriend, his performances were commendable.

Vikrant may have a conventional, boy-next-door face but he knows how to stand out against big actors. He appeared in the web series Criminal Justice alongside the super talented actor Pankaj Tripathi and managed to hold the audience's attention with his powerful acting. Not many people know that Massey is also a trained ballet dancer. It's no wonder how he managed to groove so swiftly to Gallan Goodiyaan in Dil Dhadakne Do.

In an interview, Vikrant revealed that he always tries to be a part of important stories because he feels that cinema has the power to bring social change.

"Cinema has always been instrumental in shaping society, not just in India but all over the world. Even in the West, cinema played a huge part in ushering revolution and initiating conversations among people. When I say revolution, I am not saying that after watching films people will take to the streets and start chanting slogans. The very idea of taking up a topic can lead to a revolution, and cinema has the power to do so," he said.

With an intriguing screen presence, Vikrant is slowly and steadily becoming the master in show business.

Meanwhile, the actor also revealed that he is going to celebrate his birthday cooking pav bhaji with his mom and wife.

As he stepped into another year filled with love and fun, ETV Bharat wishes the actor a very happy birthday!
