Mumbai: Global star Priyanka Chopra recently gushed about Gully Boy's official selection for Oscars saying that the film has the potential to reach the final five.
Priyanka expressed her happiness on Gully Boy's feat calling it a 'beautiful' film.
"We send one film each year as our entry for Oscars. Every year, one film gets selected that is sent as an entry for the foreign film category. But this time, what is really special about Gully Boy is firstly it's a beautiful film and secondly every person who is attached to this movie is my friend. Thirdly, I really feel there's a lot of potential in this film to reach the final five," said PeeCee.
The actor also spoke about her dream to see Hindi cinema fetching international appreciation.
"My dream is that Hindi cinema should be appreciated internationally as well. And I feel Gully Boy is one film that represents our industry very well. So I am very happy and would support the team as much as I can," said Priyanka.
Priyanka will be making her Bollywood comeback after a hiatus of nearly three years with her upcoming film The Sky Is Pink.
The film also stars Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim, Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles. Directed by Shonali Bose, The Sky Is Pink is a bittersweet drama about a couple, played by Priyanka and Farhan who loses their daughter to pulmonary fibrosis, a serious immune disease.
The Sky Is Pink had its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film will hit the big screens on October 11.
