Mumbai: A die hard fan of Ajay Devgn has asked the Bollywood actor to shun promoting tobacco products. The 40-year-old cancer patient from Rajasthan has made the public appeal to the actor.
Reportedly, Nanakram Meena was a fan of the 'Singham' actor and used to consume the same product which the actor advertises. However, lately, he realised that tobacco had an adverse effect on his life.
Recently, Nanakram distributed pamphlets asking Devgn about how much he or his family chew tobacco. He circulated over 1,000 pamphlets in Sanganer, Jagatpura and nearby areas of Rajasthan.
"My father Nanakram Meena started chewing tobacco a few years ago and was using the same brand for which Devgn does the advertisement. My father was impressed by Devgn but when he was diagnosed with cancer, he felt that such a big star should not advertise for these kinds of products," Dinesh Meena, the patient's son, told PTI.
Moreover, Nanakram also urged other actors not to endorse harmful products as liquor, cigarette and tobacco.
On the work front, Ajay will be next seen in Luv Ranjan's 'De De Pyar De'. The movie is slated to hit the screens on May 17.
