Mumbai: At a time when the nation is divided over the violence on educational institutions, director Raaj Shandilyaa threw a distasteful joke at actor Swara Bhasker calling her a "sasti cheez" on social media.
The Dream Girl director recently put up a joke on Twitter which read: "Sasti cheezon pe dhyan na dein, 'Swara Bhasker' se mehenga 'Dainik Bhasker' bikta hai (Don't pay attention to cheap things, Dainik Bhaskar sells more than Swara Bhasker)."
Emphasising that the particular newspaper sells more than her, the comedy writer-cum-director seemed to extract some laughter from the audience at the cost of Swara's surname.
Pat came a reply from Swara's end. She called out the hypocrite in him and wrote: "Be mindful of your despicable acts as well when you come to offer a role next time or send messages requesting to share your film's trailer."

Soon after Shaandliyaa apologised to Bhasker, saying that he has zero doubt about her talents as an actor.
He wrote: "Meri baat se yadi aapko theek nahi lagi to dil se mafi," further adding, "lekin ek guzarish aapse bhi hai ki aap bhi kisi ke baare me kuch bolne se pehle socha karein. chahe wo desh ho, log ho, ya phir koi vyakti vishesh..."

Belonging from the same film fraternity, the joke on Swara from Shaandilyaa's end is nothing but a show of poor taste and undignified personality.
Voicing her opinions on CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act), the actor also took part in a protest against the JNU attack held last night in Mumbai.
