Hyderabad: The makers of Hindi remake of The Intern starring Deepika Padukone are yet to find a replacement for late actor Rishi Kapoor who was roped in to reprise Rober De Niro's role from the original. While the film is delayed by a year, the makers have now intensified the search for a senior actor who can step into Rishi's shoes.
In January this year, the announcement of Rishi and Deepika starring in the official Hindi remake of the Rober De Niro-Anne Hathaway starrer Hollywood comedy hit, The Intern made headlines. The film was about to go on floors before the pandemic hit the world and Rishi never returned home from the hospital in April.

The project is jointly produced by Deepika and Sunir Kheterpal under their banners Ka Productions and Azure Entertainment respectively. Talking more about the film, Deepika had said that it is an "intimate, relationship-driven film, set in and around the workplace."
After more than half a year in limbo, the film is reportedly scheduled to go on floors in mid-2021. The film would have reunited Deepika with Rishi after a decade since their last outing together Love Aaj Kal in 2009.
