Mumbai: Film producer Boney Kapoor on Monday has announced that the release date of his first Tamil production has been preponed.
The film 'Nerkonda Paarvai' which was earlier scheduled to release on August 10, will now hit the big screens on August 8, 2019.
The 65-year-old producer recently took to his social media handle to reveal the news related to his upcoming Tamil production.
Sharing the posters of the film, he wrote on Twitter: "#NerKondaPaarvai will release Worldwide on August 8th. #NerKondaPaarvaiFromAug8."
The reason behind the advance release was reportedly because of the Thursday sentiment that Ajith, who is an ardent Sai Baba devotee, followed when it comes to releasing his films.
Apparently, it was late Sridevi's wish that Ajith and her husband collaborated for a film.
Boney Kapoor had earlier said in a statement: "While working with Ajith in 'English Vinglish', Sridevi had expressed her desire that Ajith does a Tamil film for our home production."
He further added: "Nothing exciting came up till one day last year Ajith suggested remaking ‘Pink' in Tamil. She immediately agreed as she thought it was most appropriate and timely film to make, and Ajith would bring all the elements required to make it into a great Tamil film."
Directed by H. Vinoth, the film also stars Vidya Balan, Mahat Raghavendra, Shraddha Srinath, Andrea Tariang and Abhirami Venkatachalam.
Kapoor has also confirmed that he has another project lined up with Ajith.
Talking about it, he said: "We are subsequently doing another film together and that will be scheduled to go on the floors in July 2019 and will be released on April 10, 2020."
