Mumbai: Today marks the 46th birthday of one of the leading actors of the 90s, Kajol. The Bengali beauty who marked her film debut with Bekhudi has been ruling millions of hearts with her infectious smile, sparkling eyes and unique style. On her special day, ETV Bharat brings to you some interesting facts about the actor.
Kajol forayed into the film industry at the tender age of 16. While her first film Bekhudi failed to strike the chords with the audience, her acting surely did!
Kajol's first breakthrough came with the 1993 release Bazigar. Later in 1995, she went on to feature in Karan Arjun and Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, both of which turned out to be a huge success.
After Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kajol took a long break from films. She made a remarkable comeback with Fanaa and took home her 6th Filmfare trophy.
Interestingly, Kajol's chemistry with Shah Rukh Khan was highly liked by the audience. The duo has given many big hits together including Bazigar, Karan Arjun, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham and My Name is Khan.
However, in the year 2015, Kajol and Shah Rukh made a comeback with Dilwale which might have not done wonders at the box office but their chemistry did manage to create the same old magic.
In the song Ruk Ja O Dil Deewane from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, there is a sequence where Shah Rukh drops Kajol.
Interestingly, Kajol was not told about the free fall as filmmaker Aditya Chopra wanted to capture her real expressions.
Behind the title of the film, there's another lesser-known story. While most of the people liked the title, Kajol suggested it to be Tapori which was also approved by Kirron Kher.
