Hyderabad: Amid huge speculations of a sequel to the Telugu superhit film 'Awe', director Prashanth Varma has confirmed the news.
Film critic Ramesh Bala announced on his Twitter on Monday. He also stated in his tweet that the sequel might feature Kajal Aggarwal and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles.

'Awe' is a critically acclaimed Telugu film released in 2018. The movie features Kajal Aggarwal in the lead besides Nithya Menen, Regina Cassandra, Eesha Rebba, Srinivas Avasarala, Priyadarshi Pullikonda and Murali Sharma in the supporting roles.
The film went on to win two National Awards apart from being a huge commercial success.
'Awe' deals with psychological issues and social problems like child abuse, sexual abuse, drug abuse, and Homosexuality.
However, 'Awe 2' is said to be completely different from its prequel. Unlike the previous part, the upcoming film will explore something never done before in Tollywood.
In a recent interview to a leading publication, Prashanth said the 'Awe 2' will not have multiple characters or stories like its prequel. The sequel will only have one story with a heavy and intriguing screenplay.
While Kajal is yet again approached to play the leading lady, for the male lead makers have Vijay Sethupathi in mind.
'Awe 2' will reportedly release in multiple languages.
