Akshay and Kriti flag off marathon in Jaisalmer

Actors Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon are busy shooting in the Golden City Jaisalmer for their upcoming movie 'Bachchan Pandey'. On the occasion of Army Day the actors were seen interacting with soldiers in Jaisalmer army station.

Jaisalmer (Rajasthan): On the occasion of Army Day, Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon flagged off the 'Vijay Run for Soldier Marathon' held at Sagat Singh Stadium in Jaisalmer Army Station on Friday morning.

The 'Khiladi' actor was also seen playing volleyball with the soldiers.

Akshay Kumar and actress Kriti Sanon are busy shooting in the Golden City Jaisalmer these days for their upcoming movie 'Bachchan Pandey'.

The shooting of the film 'Bhoot' is also going on in Jaisalmer for which actor Saif Ali Khan and other actors have arrived in the desert city.

Both films are being shot at different locations.

Jaisalmer has been the favourite destination of the film industry for a long time.

Why is Army Day celebrated

There are two big reasons behind celebrating Army Day on 15 January. The first is that on 15 January 1949, the Indian Army was completely liberated from the British Army. Secondly, on this day, General KM Cariappa was made the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, making him the first army chief of democratic India.
