In a recent episode of Patriotic Act Minhaj talked about the situation in Kashmir and the imposition of Article 370.

He said that when he thinks about Independence and autonomy, he can't help but think about the people of Kashmir and everything that's going on with section 370.

In the video, Minhaj said, "Kashmir has been in this custody battle between India and Pakistan. They have been this political pawn used by both countries."

Posing concern about the eight-plus million people who live in Kashmir, he said, "There has been a communication blackout... It's really really terrifying and I'm scared because I think things are only gonna get worse and we were seeing an erosion of autonomy..."

He further stated that these two vestiges of the British imperialism are fighting for the right to be their own.

Minhaj concluded saying, "So, on India's Independence Day I'm thinking about the people of Kashmir who are fighting for their own Independence."
