Mumbai: Actor Alia Bhatt will be seen playing the lead role in Hindi medium fame director Saket Chaudhary's upcoming social drama.
According to sources, the movie will deliver a hard-hitting message in a humourous way.
"Sa ket has been working on the script for a while now. He was keen on casting Alia, who liked the script and has given her nod. She is expected to sign on the dotted line shortly," said a source.
Meanwhile, the hunt for the leading man is still on. The team will finalise the shooting schedule once the entire cast is locked," a source said.
The film will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
Apart from the upcoming social drama, Alia will also be seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Brahmastra.

Brahmastra is Ayan Mukerji's ambitious superhero film that unites Ranbir and Alia on the screen for the first time. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role along with Mouni Roy, Dimple Kapadia and Nagarjuna.
The film has been scheduled to release on December 4, after being postponed in the past. Brahmastra is the first of a planned trilogy and is rumoured to be one of the most expensive films ever made in Bollywood.

Amid all the excitement regarding the release date of Brahmastra, a buzz related to the wedding date of Alia and Ranbir has taken over the internet. Unconfirmed reports claim that the two are eyeing for a December wedding.
"Alia and Ranbir Kapoor are set to tie the knot in December this year, not long after the release of Brahmastra on the 4th of that month," read the article.
According to news reports, preparations for the December wedding has already started in the Bhatt and Kapoor households. Relatives of the two stars have reportedly been told about the wedding date.
