Mumbai: National Award-winning actor Akshay Kumar has landed in a legal soup because of his latest washing powder commercial in which he portrays a Maratha warrior.
The Pad Man actor has been blamed for hurting the Maratha sentiments.
In the commercial, the actor who is seen donning a typical Marathi warrior costume returns to his kingdom after defeating the enemies. While the warrior's clothes are wrapped in dust and mud, one of the soldier's wife taunts the army for their dirty clothes.
The actor in the video claims that if his army can win battles, it can also wash clothes. It then shows the actor dancing while washing clothes.
However, the commercial has not gone down well with a section of people.
According to news reports, a police complaint has been filed at Worli police station in Mumbai against him for mocking the Marathi culture and hurting the sentiments.

The Mission Mangal actor is yet to respond to the complaint lodged against him.
On the work front, the 52-year-old actor is basking in the success of his latest release Good Newwz. The Raj Mehta directorial also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in lead roles.
Meanwhile, the actor also has a few interesting projects in his kitty. He will next be seen in Rohit Shetty's cop action drama titled Sooryavanshi.
