'De De Pyaar De', a romantic comedy co-produced by Luv Ranjan and directed by Akiv Ali also features Rakul Preet Singh. The film which was earlier scheduled to hit the big screens on April 26, will now out on May 17 which also marks release of 'Jabariya Jodi'.
Bhushan Kumar, the head-honcho of T-Series who is bankrolling the film confirmed the news to a daily and said, "DDPD is a commercial entertainer and deserves a good release date and we don’t think 'Total Dhamaal' and our film should release within 15-20 days of each other. May 17 is a good date."
The makers apparently had to take the decision fearing that the release of two films starring same actor within a span of 20 days would harm the business of both the films.
However, the two of biggest hits of 2018, 'Badhaai Ho' and 'Andhadhun' starring Ayushmann Khurrana as lead, released within a fortnight and still did stupendous at the box office.
Interestingly, with 'De De Pyaar De' marks Ajay's comeback to the rom-com genre almost after eight years since he last appeared in Madhur Bhandarkar’s 'Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji'.
