Hyderabad: All Talks are going on to promote the Indian Toy industry. A virtual conference was organized by DPIIT under the Chairmanship of Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, Secretary, DPIIT on the National Action Plan for Toys. It was co-chaired by Sh. A.K.Sharma, Secretary, MSME. The meeting was attended by all States & Union Territories of the country.

National Action Plan for Toys comprehensively deals with using Toys as a learning resource; designing based on Indian traditions and values; organizing Hackathons/grand challenges for toy designing. The Plan also aims to promote 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'&'Made in India'toys; organizing National Toy Fair; creating Toy repositories; promoting Toy Tourism, domestic manufacturing, investments & exports of Indian Toys; development of skills for Toy Industry; monitor Quality of Toys.
Secretary, DPIIT, emphasized the importance of Hon'ble PM's vision of availability of right kind of safe toys for children, their use as a learning resource, their designing based on Indian values, culture, history and strengthening domestic manufacturing base in the country.
'National Toy Fair' being organized on a virtual platform from 27th February to 2nd March 2021. Mrs. Alka Arora, Joint Secretary, MSME, highlighted the role of existing 18 Technology Centres readily available for assisting the Toy Industry for tooling & technology support. Specific courses suiting to the need of the industry can be developed.
