Instagram rolled out 'Recently Deleted' feature, working on 'Vertical Stories'

Be it photos, videos, reels, IGTV videos, and stories, anything can be deleted immediately by using the 'Recently Deleted' feature of Instagram. Deleted stories that are not in your archive will stay in the folder for up to 24 hours. Everything else will be automatically deleted 30 days later. Instagram is also working on another feature, 'Vertical Stories'. Navigating with vertical swipes up and down would make Stories experience more like Reels.

Instagram rolled out 'Recently Deleted' feature, working on 'Vertical Stories'

Hyderabad: Instagram rolled out the 'Recently Deleted' feature. For the first time, you will be able to review and restore deleted content. Instagram also added certain protections to prevent them from compromising your account. This will also restrict the hackers from deleting the content/posts you have shared.

Instagram will ask people to first verify that they are the rightful account holders when permanently deleting or restoring content from Recently Deleted.

Anything you choose to delete be it photos, videos, reels, IGTV videos, and stories, all will get deleted immediately and move to the Recently Deleted folder. Deleted stories that are not in your archive will stay in the folder for up to 24 hours. Everything else will be automatically deleted 30 days later.

To get access to your deleted content, simply go to Settings, then go to Account and then go to Recently Deleted. From here, you can either restore or permanently delete it. Remember, this is possible on the latest version of the Instagram App.

Instagram is working on another feature, 'Vertical Stories'. Instagram confirmed to TechCrunch on Wednesday, Feb 3 that the feature is being developed but is not available for the public at the moment.

According to a TechCrunch report, navigating with vertical swipes up and down would make Stories experience more like Reels, recently launched by Facebook to compete with the Chinese short-video making app.

Vertical swiping feels more natural than taps and horizontal flicks, the way we do on smartphones and other apps.

Short video making app Instagram Reels is rolling out a new update allowing users to make 30-second videos instead of 15 seconds.

The company has also increased the timer from 3 seconds to 10 seconds. It is also adding trim and delete clips options to make editing simpler.
