Trichy: Trichy forest department personnel in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday arrested a 29-year-old astrologer for committing fraud claiming that animal products made up of monitor lizards' body could mesmerise people.
The accused astrologer has been identified as Periyasamy of the same district.
According to forest department officials, the accused person was offering Kohl (Kajal) eye cosmetic to people claiming that the product will paralyse their enemies.
The product was made up of monitor lizard's body parts. He has also uploaded a video about the making process of this Kohl on his own YouTube channel six months ago, officials added.
On being informed by the locals, forest department officials swung into action and nabbed the accused astrologer on Tuesday. The astrologer has been interrogated by the forest department officials and he will be handed over to police soon, officials added.
