Chamarajanagar: A man allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself after killing his family members in Karnataka's Chamrajanagar. The incident took place in the wee hours on Friday.
The head of the family has been identified as Omkara Prasad (35), who runs a database company in Mysore. Other deceased has been identified as Nagarajbhatru (60), Hemalatha (50), Nikhita and 4-year-old Aryan. His wife Nikhita was pregnant with their second child.
The deceased family was at a farm owned by Omkara's friend in Elchetti village since Tuesday.
According to the statements by the deceased's driver, the family had their lunch from a nearby hotel after which the driver was ordered to leave. At the wee hours of Friday, the driver got a call from his boss who was saying that he doesn't want to live.
"There is a debt burden behind the case," said Chamarajnagar SP Anand Kumar.
Omkar first shot his son Aryan and his father followed by his mother Hemalatha and his pregnant wife Nikita to the forehead. At last, he shot himself.
The dead bodies has been sent to the Chamarajanagar district hospital for post-mortem examination.
A case has been registered and the investigation is underway.
