New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Saudi Arabia on October 28-29 to participate in the third edition of the annual future investment summit in Riyadh.
During his visit, Modi will also meet Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammad Salman. Both leaders met last time on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Osaka.
Not only this, the PM will launch RuPay card to help the Indian pilgrims visiting Mecca Medina. After the UAE and Bahrain, Saudi will be the third country in the Middle East to have RuPay.
Modi's visit to Saudi Arabia comes at a critical juncture as it is trying to gain more international support on its Kashmir decision. Saudi Arabia is a close ally of Pakistan and India's 4th largest trading partner.
During National Security Advisor Ajit Doval's recent visit to Riyadh which is considered to have prepared groundwork for PM's visit, Saudi Arabia endorsed India's action in Jammu and Kashmir.
The bilateral relation between India and Saudi Arabia has witnessed an upward trajectory in recent years. In 2017-18, the bilateral trade between both countries saw 9.56% growth. Riyadh is one of the biggest energy suppliers to India.
