Hyderabad: Hours after fleeing the country, Ashraf Ghani, former president of Afghanistan, announced on social media that he moved out "to avoid the bleeding flood". "The Taliban have made it to remove me, they are here to attack all Kabul and the people of Kabul. In order to avoid the bleeding flood, I thought it was best to get out," he posted on Facebook. Ghani, however, did not disclose his current location.
Substantiating his claim that he left the country to protect the six million people in Kabul, he wrote, "If there were still countless countrymen martyred and they would face destruction and destruction of Kabul city, the result would have been a big human disaster in this six million city." The ousted president mentioned that the Taliban are facing a "historical test". He said they have won the judgment of sword and guns and now it's their duty to protect the people of Afghanistan. "It is necessary for Taliban to assure all the people, nations, different sectors, sisters and women of Afghanistan to win the legitimacy and the hearts of the people," he said.

In conclusion of his message, Ghani said he will "continue to serve the nation with an intellectual mo(ve)ment and a plan to develop."
The Taliban is all set to declare the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan from the presidential palace in Kabul, the capital. The move will mark a full circle, as this was the name of the country under the Taliban government ousted by US-led forces after the September 11, 2001 attacks.
