Baghdad: A one day summit was organised by Iraq which brought together Parliament heads from Turkey, Jordan, Kuwait, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Iran.
It also brought together regional rivals- Saudi Arabia and Iran so that they could bridge their relations and also look forward to invest in Iraq.
At the summit, Iraq portrayed itself as a senior official as it was playing the role of a mediator. Iraqi leaders had already emphasised that it was important to develop good relations with the neighbours in order to keep check on its security and economy.
The country was seeking aid and investment of billions of dollars to help it rebuild after 15 years of war.
