Months of the ordeal and 20 blood transfusions later, George is finally at home with his parents.

Hanna and George's dad Daniel Bownes,27, were told their child would likely to die after all he'd been through in his little life. He was put on life support within six minutes of his birth. George had been suffering from necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a condition in newborns in which part of the bowel dies. While the doctors were operating on him, the baby lost 40% of his blood. Due to his premature birth, he also contracted meningitis and sepsis.
